Privacy Shield (EU-US)
What is Privacy Shield?
Privacy Shield was an agreement that over 5,000 US companies pledged regarding the treatment of data from EU subjects, following on from GDPR requirements, which came into law in May 2018. The agreement has since been reversed by the EU Court of Justice. As a result, Privacy Shield can no longer be used by organisations to transfer personal data from the EU to the USA.
Companies who have been affected by the abolition of Privacy Shield are now in a position where they need to sign standard contractual clauses, created by European standards.
As an eCommerce solution provider that is inherently European, we are committed to complying with any and all data protection regulations and requirements.
